Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We are committed to handling your information openly and in line with Australian privacy law.
About this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information handled by Gregory Hardiman (ABN 75 964 669 667), trading as GrokoryAI ("GrokoryAI", "we", "us" or "our"), through the website at grokoryai.com, our digital products, and our consulting and related services.
We aim to handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). "Personal information" means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.
Information we collect
The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us. It may include:
- Contact and identity details such as your name, email address, phone number and business name, when you contact us, book a session, subscribe, or buy a product;
- Transaction information related to purchases, such as the product bought and the purchase value (your card details are handled by our checkout provider, not by us);
- Content you provide in enquiries, audit or scorecard submissions, and other forms; and
- Technical and usage information such as your device and browser type, IP address, pages visited and interactions, collected automatically when you use the Website.
You do not have to give us your personal information, but if you do not, we may not be able to provide the product, service or response you are after.
How we collect it
We collect personal information:
- directly from you, when you fill in a form, email us, book a call, subscribe or make a purchase;
- automatically, through cookies and analytics as you use the Website (see the Advertising and analytics and Cookies and similar technologies sections); and
- from the third-party providers we use to run our business, such as our checkout, email and scheduling tools, where they pass us information about your interaction with us.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiries and provide the products and services you request;
- process and deliver purchases, and handle refunds;
- send transactional messages and, where you have opted in, email updates and offers;
- measure and improve our Website, products and marketing; and
- meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Advertising and analytics
We use the Meta (Facebook) pixel and privacy-friendly product analytics to measure how the Website and our advertising perform. These run in your browser only after you accept analytics and advertising cookies (see the Cookies and similar technologies section). If you decline, the pixel and analytics do not load and we do not collect this data about your visit.
When you have accepted and then visit a product page, we send event data to Meta to measure advertising performance. Separately, when you complete a purchase, our server sends a purchase event to the Meta Conversions API as part of recording and measuring that sale. For purchases this includes a cryptographically hashed version of your email address and the purchase value. We never send your email address to Meta in plain text.
You can also limit advertising tracking through your browser settings and through your Meta ad preferences.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only with the service providers who help us operate, and only so they can perform their function. These include providers for:
- Payments and checkout (our digital products are sold and processed through Gumroad as merchant of record);
- Email and customer communication;
- Website hosting and infrastructure;
- Analytics and advertising measurement (including Meta, as described in the Advertising and analytics section); and
- Scheduling and bookings.
We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law, or to protect our rights, safety or property and those of others.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled in line with this policy and applicable privacy law. By using the Services, you acknowledge that your information may be processed overseas by these providers.
Storage, security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law (for example, tax and financial records), and then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Your rights and choices
You have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete.
To make a request, contact us using the details in the Contact and complaints section. We will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity first, and in some cases the law allows us to decline a request, in which case we will explain why.
Direct marketing and opt-out
Where you have opted in, we may send you marketing emails about our products and services. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by using that link or by contacting us. We will still send you transactional messages, such as purchase confirmations, where necessary.
Third-party links
The Website may link to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing them with your information.
Children
Our Services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes take effect when posted. Please check back periodically.
Contact and complaints
If you have a question, an access or correction request, or a complaint about how we handle your personal information, contact us at gth@grokoryai.com.au. We take complaints seriously and will work with you to resolve them.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
